ABOUT
All elementary students will visit the computer lab during the week. Starting in Kindergarten, students will work in a program called "i-Ready" where they will have individualized math and/or reading lessons that are customized to their learning speed and style. Kindergarten students will also learn about computers and the keyboard using an interactive program called "Learning.com".

First and Second grade students will visit the computer lab for Math and/or Language Arts. Students will continue to work in i-Ready and Learning.com. These are individualized programs that help students to build skills to achieve their greatest possible gains and to support student growth. They will also start to work on keyboarding using a program called "Typtastic".

Third through Sixth grade students will will come to the Computer Lab for Math and/or Language Arts continuing to use i-Ready. They will also learn to use variety of programs to help build real world connections and life skills for their future. We learn with programs such as Google Drive: Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Illustrator to assist with projects, presentations, and reports. Students work on Keyboarding with focus on posture, position, and the appropriate use of "Home Row". We test for WPM as well as Proper Keyboard Technique. Students also learn computer terms, functions, and coding. We have many lessons throughout the year focusing on Digital Citizenship and Internet Safety.

Students can log in to the programs we use in the computer lab via Clever using their PYLUSD school email. Students can also click on their grade on this website for fun learning games or practice keyboarding!
